The Morne Daniel Youth Group witnessed its official launching ceremony on Saturday, March 3rd, 2007. Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the People's Republic of China to the Commonwealth of Dominica H.E. Deng Boqing, Minister for Economic Development and Planning, Parliamentary Representative of the Roseau North Constituency Hon. Julius Timothy and Minister in the Ministry of Tourism, Industry and Private Sector Relations Hon. Loreen Bannis- Roberts were invited guests, among others.

Ambassador Deng was happy to attend the function. He said, youth is the future of a nation and hope of the world. Youth Groups play very important roles in building the capacity and taping the potential of the youth. He believed that the launching of the Morne Daniel Youth Group will improve the ability of self-education, self-service and self-management of the young people in the community.

At that ceremony, H.E. Ambassador Deng Boqing and Hon. Julius Timothy made their financial contribution to sponsor the activities of that Group. Ambassador Deng said, as a member of the Morne Daniel Community, the Chinese embassy will continue to support the youth affairs in the community. The Chinese Ambassador also took this opportunity to wish the youth in Morne Daniel and other young Dominican people "success at all levels".
